The kingdom of eternal happiness. Timphu and Tamshing Lhakhang festivals
Bhutan has been called the last Shangri-La. It limits to the north and east with Tibet, to the west with India and to the south with Nepal; this tiny country is dominated by the Himalayas at its very heart. The topography of Bhutan is unlike any other country in the world. There are seven geographic regions culminating in Mount Everest, 8,848 meters at its highest point above sea level, yet they cover an area of only 46,500 square kilometers. These regions are characterized by their cultural, religious and climatic differences.
