An unforgettable destination

The main reason to go to Cuba is the Cubans, they transmit joy of living despite adversity and that, without intending to, gives the traveler a real life lesson.

In this country you will find everything: very beautiful colonial cities, monuments, paradisiacal beaches, nature, fun and a lot of rhythm.

Start your trip in Havana. The Old Havana area is the oldest and most touristic part of the city. When you walk through its streets, you will have the feeling of having gone back in time. You will find yourself in a decadent city and yet you will be attracted by its colors, its atmosphere and its indefinable magic. One of the elements that make Havana unique are, without a doubt, its squares full of history.

Walk along the Malecón, one of the landmarks of the capital, and at sunset attend the Cañonazo Ceremony. Do not leave without renting an almendrón (an old car) on Paseo de Martí, without going to the Plaza de la Revolución and without having a mojito at “La Bodeguita del Medio” or a daiquiri at “La Floridita”.

A highly recommended excursion that you can take starting from Havana is the one that will take you to spend the day in Viñales, in the Pinar del Río region. It is a picturesque town located in the Viñales National Park. It is famous for being one of the most important tobacco plantation cradles in the country and for being the location of the Cueva de Santo Tomás. Also delve into another immense natural space in the province called La Güira National Park.

The second route that you will surely love to do is to drive from Havana to Trinidad, where you can stay the night. On the way to Trinidad you will pass through Cienfuegos, a beautiful city with French-style buildings. After lunch, head to Trinidad. Once there, visit some of its most emblematic places, such as the Plaza Mayor, the colonial Church of the Holy Trinity, the Potter’s House and the craft market.

If you feel like resting on the beach, add the next stop to your itinerary: Varadero, a highly desired tourist spot. To combine relaxation with some activity, we suggest you take an excursion to Santa Clara, which will allow you to learn a little more about the country’s recent history.

End your trip in Santiago de Cuba, the second largest city on the island. Remember that the Cathedral of Santiago is its main icon and that its historic center is priceless. If you are a lover of Cuban sones, you will really enjoy La Casa de Trova, a place where the most renowned national artists usually meet to give concerts.

If you have more time, we suggest you go to three municipalities close to each other and close to Santiago de Cuba: Holguín, Guardalavaca and Camagüey.
